Samsung brought the new One UI 6.1 to one of its most affordable intermediaries, the Galaxy A23 4G. The update arrives after the new interface was distributed to the Galaxy A73 and Galaxy A52s in recent days.
Distribution started only for the 4G model in South Korea and includes the May 2024 security package. The update is expected to reach more regions in the coming days, including Brazil.
The update available in South Korea for the Galaxy A23 4G has a firmware version A235NKSU5EXE3including One UI 6.1 and the May 2024 security package. The download is around 2 GB and for safety reasons, it is a good idea to make a backup before starting the installation.
On Samsung's security blog, it is specified that the May 2024 security package fixes 45 vulnerabilities affecting South Korean Galaxy cell phones and tablets. The update is extremely important, as there are flaws considered critical and high risk.
If you have the Galaxy A23 4G and want to check if One UI 6.1 and the May 2024 security package are already available for you, just go to “Settings”, “Software Update” and click “Download and Install” .
Unfortunately, One UI 6.1 for the cell phone does not include the Galaxy AI suite, which includes real-time call translation, wallpaper generation and generative editing, features that were reserved for models with more powerful and recent processors.
However, the update brings performance improvements, new widgets for the lock screen, more fluid system animations and improvements to the gallery.
