The main feature of the Galaxy Quantum 5 is the presence of the S2Q000 cryptographic chip from ID Quantique, which works with the Samsung Knox platform to increase the level of security when authorizing in various applications, including payment and banking. The quantum generator uses the principles of quantum physics in the process of generating random numbers. Such numbers are truly random and are used by the algorithm to encrypt and decrypt confidential data, such as passwords for banking applications or biometric data.
The Galaxy Quantum 5 smartphone is equipped with a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen is protected from mechanical damage by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the screen area.
There is a cutout at the top of the display, which houses a 32-megapixel front camera. The triple main camera combines a 50-megapixel main sensor with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 5-megapixel macro module. The front and main cameras support 4K video recording at up to 30 frames per second.
The Galaxy Quantum 5 is powered by Samsung’s proprietary eight-core Exynos 1480 microprocessor, paired with 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB drive. The power source is a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 25 W. A USB Type-C interface is provided to replenish energy. The device can operate in fifth-generation (5G) networks, and also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 standards. The smartphone’s body protects internal components from dust and moisture in accordance with the IP67 standard.
The smartphone runs Android 14, and the manufacturer promises to release updates for the OS for four years. As for the price, the retail price of the Galaxy Quantum 5 is about $465.
